To activate devices for History TV content, you need to have an activation code. That is because you will have to enter the activation code at some stage, before the activation process can be completed. So you can’t complete the process without entering the activation code.
You of course also need to have the device to be activated – which is generally any sort of device with media player capabilities.
And because this is online activation, you will need to have an Internet-enabled device, with which to go online and undertake the activation.
How to initiate the History TV device activation process
Just go to the History TV device activation webpage (at history.com/activate). Once there, select the type of device you wish to activate. If it is not an Apple TV, Roku player or Amazon Fire TV (whose specific buttons are available on the page), click on the ‘Other’ button. So you click on ‘Other’ if, for instance, the device you wish to activate is an iPad, iPhone, Android Phone, Laptop… and so on.
When you select the type of device you wish to activate, you will be instantly given a chance to select your TV provider. So you should just click on the button for your TV provider. Like if, for instance, your TV provider is Verizon, click on the ‘Verizon’ button. If your TV provider is not among those whose buttons are indicated, click where it says ‘More Providers’ and you will get more options to select from.
After selecting your TV provider, enter the activation code, then click on the ‘Continue’ button.
How to complete the History TV device activation
When you click on the ‘Continue’ button (after selecting your device, your TV provider and entering the activation code), you will be taken to your TV provider’s website. It is there that you will get a chance to verify your account, after which the device will have been activated to receive History TV content.
